Gosh Ian, you're making me blush. Coming from yourself I value that comment very highly. Thank you. Truth is I'm still finding my way with lots of things... I have little formal training. These days I really just want to paint ... but occasionally craft creeps back in... trying to keep it under control ;-)
I don't think "formal training" is what its all about. But then again, maybe I'm old fashioned...
One of the reasons I left teaching ealy 9after about 30 years), was simply because it all became so very formalised.
Nothing wrong with a bit of good craft. My degree was in Graphic Design. I've always been glad of that because i picked up everything from photography to screen to etching, etc., etc. Had I just done Fine Art (in those days), I might know more about colour but would certainly be limited in other directions.
Bee,
ReplyDeleteYou certainly must prove (or proven) a very popular teacher with the range of craft skills you have. (I envy your colour sense).
