Large Abstract Day 1

I feel the need to work larger for a while. This new canvas is 42 x 87cm (16.5 x 34in) It's the twin of one H made for me. The other, also an abstract is hanging downstairs in our home.

I did the initial drawing with a watercolour crayon, and put in the first layer with acrylic paint.

Ooh lovely big painting Bee! I'm too scurred to do anything really big, lol. Can't wait to see the next installment :)

BTW thanks for the tag, I am going to play, just giving it some thought!

HI Bee, Oh I love the size and shape of this canvas. Also really love where this is going in design and color....

Hiya Francesca thanks for popping in :-) I can imagine how you might feel about working big ... your little gems must be a difficult habit to break. I wouldn't worry if what you're doing feels right. I love working big this minute ... next week it may be a 1 x 1 inch. Funny old game innit ;-)

Hi Lisa. Thanks very much. As you can see I'm playing with muted colours. Feel I will go along with this for a while. Your hydrangeas are going to be spectacular. Fab colours and bucket contours! :-)

Hugs Bee

I too like the size and shape of the canvas. I like the muted colours and the touch of bold cobalt/prussian blue?

Thanks Jafabrit. Since this stage the blues have been knocked back quite a bit and still shunting values around. Goodness knows where this new soft look came from, but I'll play with it for a while.
